Kafue Basin Risk & Vulnerability Assessment

Client:   One World
Region of Interest:  Kafue Basin, Zambia
Start Date:  August 2016
Staff Members:

The Kafue Basin is a wild and sensitive central part of Zambia. There are many floodplains and areas rich in wildlife.

High density settlements surround these and OneWorld asked Habitat Info to assist with the mapping of risk and vulnerability to these communities and areas from climate change.
Using over 60 input data layers we developed summary maps representing exposure to risk, sensitivity, adaptive capacity, impact and hotspots for both current and 2050 conditions.

The project included a workshop in Livingstone which Rob Davies and delegates were treated to local culture and visits to the magnificent Victoria Falls which were in full spate.
